My academic journey includes an MFA in Graphic Design, a BS in Art and Design, and a minor in Cross-Cultural Studies. These qualifications, combined with my professional experience, enable me to create transformative learning experiences that inspire and empower.
Education is a journey of discovery, growth, and meaningful service. In my classroom, I encourage students to ask big questions, challenge assumptions, and embrace failure as part of the innovation process. My approach focuses on curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration, guiding students to connect their talents to real-world applications that create positive change.
Beyond teaching, I find creative renewal in pottery. Working with clay offers a freedom that contrasts with the precision of design—it’s a meditative process where I embrace spontaneity and let the material lead. This balance between structure and experimentation fuels my creativity and keeps me grounded.
Outside of my professional pursuits, I find joy and creative renewal in a variety of activities. I am an avid fly fisherman, mountain biker, camper, and traveler, often accompanied by my wife and our dog. We embrace the philosophy of Coddiwample—traveling purposefully toward the unknown—while savoring good food and great coffee along the way. These experiences not only enrich my life but also contribute to my creativity and balance.
