The site map is the first step in designing the website. It is use to plan where the content is placed in the site.
Layout/Grid
Grids help designers arrange and organize the content and layout. Grids are essential to for consistancy and flow.
Navigation
Navigation focuses on the user experience ensuring that the view can navigate the site seemlessly and smoothly.
Heirarchy
Heirarchy is the arrangement of the content placing the most important information in the locations that will have the most impact.
Reading Patterns
Reading patterns track how viewers scan the site. Understanding reading patterns allows the designer to place important content in the best places for the most impact.
Content
Content is the infomations, product, services the clients want to communicate to the user/view of the site.
Simplicity
Simplicity refers to the user experience and useability of the site. It is essential that the designer understand the user. Color, Type, Imagery, and Navigation can all enhance the user experience.
Adaptive

Load Time
Slow load time will drive viewers from the website impacting its overalls performanse. A good pactice is to keep the load time to 3 seconds.
